Under the wheels,

Under my feet,

Pass mile upon mile

Of old fields of wheat.

And out of the corner

No, the tip of my eye,

There are fields of green

Just passing right by.

No matter how much

I have in the bank

Or how much I owe

On this bike now I thank.

The mercy of nature

For the fields I see

And the fertile land

In the heart of me.

Georgia On My Mind

As riders in Georgia, we have a huge advantage.
We have some of the best riding spots right here at home.
A few of my favorite areas are Savannah, Suches, Dahlonega, Helen, and Hiawassee.
In our state, we can see the coast, mountains, forests, and long winding roads.

There are many old state routes, some popular and some forgotten.

Highway 278 is a beautiful road for a westward jaunt that goes the scenic route all the way to Alabama.
Highway 411 is another long road that feels like it was made for motorcycles.
Others are Highway 60, 53, 27, 5, 78, and many, many more.

Whether you are planning a day trip or a weekend excursion, Georgia has a lot of roads that are ready to take you to your next adventure!
I've lived in other states but will always view Georgia as home....a motorcyclist's paradise!

2 Wheeled Thoughts

• Midnight bugs taste the best.
• The best alarm clock is sunrise on chrome.
• Never mistake horse power from staying power.
• Well trained reflexes are quicker than luck.

• If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride.
• Sometimes the fastest way to get there is to stop for the night.
• A bike on the road is better than 2 in the garage.
• Never be ashamed to unlearn an old habit.

• Saddlebags can never hold everything you want but always hold everthing you need.

• Gray haired riders didn't get that way by luck.
• Maintenance is as much an art as a science.

• The only good view of thunderstorms is in your rear view mirror.

AND......

• Only a Biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window!!!

What A Trip!!

Have you ever just packed a bag, hopped on your bike, and hit the road???
The best times I've ever, EVER had on a motorcycle were just that random and spontaneous!
I have left town without planning a destination at all.



 I'd pack a bag with a few changes of clothes, a few necessities, & a map, & hit the road taking old state routes rather than the super slabs.

It gives me peace of mind & is the best weapon against stress I've ever found!
There is something serene in a road trip that, to this day, I've not been able to find a substitute.
On the road, you learn alot about people and sometimes a little bit about yourself as well.

Rollin' down the road with a song in your head, your hand on the throttle, & accompanied by the rumble of your Harley's exhaust, is 2 wheeled therapy in it's purist form.

Sadly, many people have not experienced this since we live in world inundated with schedules, planning, meetings, along with the 'rat race'  technology has created.

I call these trips 'Hobo Runs" as they are reminiscent of the days folks would pack a bag, hop a train & search for opportunity, adventure, & sometimes their next meal.

Life is a trip...so take one!
Don't let overplanning keep you from the relaxation of the open road.
