The Sportster

The Sportster is Harley-Davidson's longest running model.
Since 1957, customers have enjoyed it's compact performance, no frills styling, and it has stood the test of time well.

It was designed to meet the needs of a younger, more hip crowd as well as give riders of that time, an alternative to the cumbersome beasts available.

The XL model designation was a reference to experimental light weight.
Harley customers responded well and sales reflected that the Motor Company had hit a home run with the design.

The race inspired look and unit construction motor gave the bike an aggressive look with a performance to match.
The shorter wheelbase and lighter weight proved to be a nimble combination making it a contender in the marketplace for the past 54 years!

Today's Sportster is rubber mounted, fuel injected, and comes in seven different styles, colors and designs.
It's available in both an 883cc and 1200cc version.

Come in and test ride a Sportster today and find out what excitement is about!
Feel the thunder that started in '57!

Georgia On My Mind

As riders in Georgia, we have a huge advantage.
We have some of the best riding spots right here at home.
A few of my favorite areas are Savannah, Suches, Dahlonega, Helen, and Hiawassee.
In our state, we can see the coast, mountains, forests, and long winding roads.

There are many old state routes, some popular and some forgotten.

Highway 278 is a beautiful road for a westward jaunt that goes the scenic route all the way to Alabama.
Highway 411 is another long road that feels like it was made for motorcycles.
Others are Highway 60, 53, 27, 5, 78, and many, many more.

Whether you are planning a day trip or a weekend excursion, Georgia has a lot of roads that are ready to take you to your next adventure!
I've lived in other states but will always view Georgia as home....a motorcyclist's paradise!

2 Wheeled Thoughts

  • Midnight bugs taste the best.
  • The best alarm clock is sunrise on chrome.
  • Never mistake horse power from staying power.
  • Well trained reflexes are quicker than luck.

  • If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride.
  • Sometimes the fastest way to get there is to stop for the night.
  • A bike on the road is better than 2 in the garage.
  • Never be ashamed to unlearn an old habit.

  • Saddlebags can never hold everything you want but always hold everthing you need.

  • Gray haired riders didn't get that way by luck.
  • Maintenance is as much an art as a science.

  • The only good view of thunderstorms is in your rear view mirror.
AND......

  • Only a Biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window!!!

Make It Your Own!

Since Harley-Davidson rolled out their first bike in 1903, people have been adding personal touches to make it their own.
In the early years, original Harley-Davidson accessories were very limited and in short supply, with an overwhelming demand for more options.

The Motor Company responded and every year more unique and quality GENUINE Harley-Davidson Parts & Accessories and MotorClothes became available for the owners of the 2-wheeled American Icon.

With a die hard loyalty from the customer base and one of the strongest brands of recognition, a market was developed into a multi-billion industry.
It was all spearheaded by the necessity and pride to ride for the brand of a legend.
Today the availability of these items is limited only by the imagination of the motorcycle's owner.

Harley-Davidson of Cartersville carries a full line of Parts & Accessories to make your bike fit you well, be comfortable, and look it's best.
Making it your own is part of the fun, personalizing your bike makes it unique to you, and that's all part of the Harley-Davidson ownership experience!

FREE BIKE!!!!

I wanted to take a moment today & share a great story with you!
I've had the benefit of meeting one of our customers that had an interesting, yet eye opening, situation.
He had always wanted a Harley-Davidson but, with kids, a wife, a career and several hobbies, he just never felt the timing was right.  He also struggled justifying the price of the bike he wanted.  He made several visits to our dealership, asking questions about different Harley models as well as their specs, pricing, etc.
After much hesitation, he finally decided to take a look at some actual numbers.  As I went over the different payment options within his budget, we had an epiphany that got us working together as a team.  Financially brainstorming with monthly payments, we calculated what his fuel costs were driving his current vehicle to work vs. taking a Harley which gets approximately 54 miles per gallon.  We also added in the cost of insurance, registration, as well as service maintenance cost on the two vehicles.
Surprisingly, we concluded that, if he rode the Harley to work an average of 3 - 4 days weekly, the bike would pay for itself as well as $15 to $20 a month in his pocket to boot!!

With gas prices so unpredictable, one can be certain that fun is for sale and in some cases FREE!!!!

Miles Of Memories...

It occurred to me, the other day, that I have been a licensed motorcycle rider for 17 years now.

In that time, I have been fortunate to have many miles of memories on the road.

I have met some interesting and incredible people, seen many sights and landmarks, ridden in the heat, the cold, day/nightime, caught in the rain, snow, etc., as well as traversing many types of terrain.
I have been blessed with adventures of all kinds!

The road on two wheels is different than looking out through a  car windshield.

"Ghost Rider" by David Mann

It dates back to a time when a man or woman would ride on their horse, experiencing all the sights, sounds, and smells of the open country.

Sometimes, it's good for the mind to hit the road without having a destination at all.
It truly is "the journey not the destination".

So, gas up your bike, get your gear, and lets make miles of memories!

Selecting the Right Bike...

When preparing to purchase your next motorcycle, or in some cases, your first, there are many things to consider.

First of all...what kind of riding will you be doing?
Interstates?  Long distance?  Around town??

Next...who will you be riding with?
Will you carry a passenger or go solo?

Next...what type of riding position do you prefer?  Keep in mind, the placement of you feet, hands, as well as your seating arrangement.

What type of look are you going for?
Touring?  Sporty?  Old school?  New School?  Stock or custom?

Another important question...have you been assisted by a professional Harley-Davidson Sales Associate??
You'd never let a banker do your landscaping or your landscaper cut your hair....get the point??
In almost every major decision we make as consumers, we consult a professional.

Our Sales Staff here at Harley-Davidson of Cartersville is here to serve YOU!
We keep up to date with all the new products Harley has to offer.

Harley-Davidson Has Done It AGAIN!!!!

Harley-Davidson has done it again introducing a special 2011 1/2 model called the BLACKLINE!
This Softail boasts the lowest available seat height for Harley at only 24 inches.
It's a throwback, to the time of the choppers & bobbers of the 60's & 70's, with it's stance, black components, and raw edgy design.
It screams COOL and has several model specific features such as custom handlebars, clean looking dash panel, and two tone cylinders.

Although it has old school looks, it has all the technology necessary for dependable daily riding in any environment.
This 96 cubic inch power plant is nicely complemented by a smooth shifting 6 speed transmission.
The fuel injection makes for easy start ups and efficient fuel delivery.

Two miles into my test ride on the new Blackline and it was obvious Harley had hit a home run with this bike.
The stealth appearance and lower center of gravity really gave it a 'fighterjet' feel on the road.
Simply put, it has it all...looks, handling and dependability.
I love it...and you will too!

Come in and test ride the new BLACKLINE today at Harley-Davidson of Cartersville, Georgia's #1 Harley dealer!
