Usually, a queen size bed, dressing table, a walk-in closet, a comfortable chair and a reading table (optional) are the components of any large master bedroom. Now depending upon the type of your activity, you might have to include a music system, a book shelf or an LCD TV. The headboard of the bed should be kept at the wall that faces the entrance of the room. This should be considered as the focal point of the room and the remaining furniture should be arranged considering the position of the focal point.

Leave some free space for dressing, around the walk-in closet and dressing table, so that the lights can be focused on this area. Large bedrooms allow you a plethora of options in terms of painting and illumination. A large chandelier and a couple of lampshades should suffice the light requirement of a large bedroom. For bedrooms, it is preferable to go for subtle shades or undertones of bright colors. The curtains should be dark, so that the light won't interfere with your sleep. Bedroom Designs in Black and White

Bedroom Designs in Black and White
Bedroom Designs in Black and White
In Bedroom designs, There aren’t more elegant colors than black and white, especially when it comes to home decorations. The contrast between these two colors has certainly several advantages, especially if people respect few aesthetic rules.

The advantages from decorating a bedroom, for example, with black and white are quite important, as they can dramatically change the aspect of a room. The main advantage for a bedroom that is decorated in black and white is the fact that will look extremely elegant. Further more, the white color will develop the idea of large space and hygene.

For example, if a room is decorated only in white and yet, some accessories or objects are meant to be seen, these accessories should be put on a black support, only if they aren’t black as well. It will certainly look fancy.

The only thing about a bedroom in black and white is the fact that sheets aren’t recommended to be black. It will simply not look to good, and that is because the bed takes a lot of space, and by decorating in black, the light from that room won’t be so big anymore. Also, anyone who will enter in that bedroom will have the sensation that something simply doesn’t fit too good.

You can have a black bed with black and white bedsheets, and zebra patterned blankets. Alternatively, you could have a pure black bedsheet with a white pillow-case. Polka dots in black and white look great too. You could also go for a pure white bed with a black headrest.

It is also very important to have the correct lampshades and lamp lighting. Ditch the bulbs. Go for CFLs. They’ll look great with such a bedroom and conserve energy too! Lampshades will have to be white, no choices there. But the black lamp-stand will look pretty good with it. If you’re a big fan of patterns, like me, you can go for spotted lamp-stands. Hanging lights on the side of your bed look good too. IMO, chandeliers might not look good in such a setting

Modern Bedroom Designs

Modern Bedroom Designs
Modern Bedroom Designs

I love to design any bedroom, in modern bedroom designs, the second most important thing, next to a relaxing atmosphere, is the functionality of the room itself. To make a room functional, the needs of the owner need to be carefully considered. How many clothes do they have? How much closet space? Is there a television in the room? How many windows are there? Is there a connected bathroom or does the owner want a vanity table? So many factors need to be considered that owners are often confused and hire an interior decorator to help.

As you could probably guess, the most important part about making a bedroom functional is the bed. A bedroom is designed to relax and sleep in, so choosing the right bed for the room is extremely important. There are many factors involved when choosing a bed, including owner preference, room size, and the design of the rest of the room. Putting a huge bed in a small room makes it feel cramped, but putting a small bed in a large room makes it feel huge. While you may think a bedroom that feels huge would be a good thing, it is not always easy to relax when there is too much space. After the bed is decided upon, clothing storage is the next most important aspect of the room. The dressers must be big enough to store the owner’s clothing, but not so big as to make the room feel cramped. Again, room size and design need to be considered. To make the room modern, the furniture must also be modern, while at the same time being functional. For example, a dresser with faux drawers along with the real ones, while modern, is not the optimal storage space for someone with a lot of clothing.

Modern bedroom designs often try to “hide” closets and television sets, incorporating them into the modern design, while still making them functional. For example, in a modern bedroom with a tropical theme, the closets or the entertainment center which houses the television set may be painted to look like trees, or perhaps the ocean, depending greatly on their design. Why try to hide these things? Maintaining a modern look with a relaxing atmosphere means making sure the design has good use of space. Sometimes in smaller bedrooms, hiding furniture in this way is done to help make the space feel bigger.

Decorating Your Bedroom Using Feng Shui

Feng Shui Bedroom Designs
 Bedroom Designs with Fengshui

The basic principle of using Fengshui on bedroom designs is how to apply a good feng shui by maximize the design of bedroom and avoid the bad Fengshui on bedroom designs. Here are several tips on decorating bedroom:
The philosophy of home decorating using Feng Shui can bring many positive feelings and vibrations into your home when used properly. One of the most important elements of the feng shui design concept is the usage of colors. In Feng Shui teachings, each color – just like each element, represents certain things. In order to yieled the desired results of feng shui color schemes, you must know what they mean.
  1. Remove everything from your room that doesn’t inspire what you want from your bedroom. We clutter our bedroom space with treadmills (they double as clothes hangers), televisions, radios and the like. All of these things dampen the energy that should flow freely. You have televisions in other rooms so let that be where you watch it.
  2. Choose a color that brings balance to your bedroom. According to feng shui, flesh tones are good for adding sensuality to your bedroom. Deep browns are significant with the wood element which brings life and vitality. As you sleep, your body is repairing itself and renewing your energy for the next day.
  3. Leave space below your bed for energy to flow all around it. Beds with drawers underneath block the energy in your bedroom from surrounding you. If your sexual energy is running a little low, it is important to have the most positive energy possible in the bedroom.
  4. Adding  artwork. We place artwork in the living room for family and friends to see but in the bedroom, it’s for you. If you want your bedroom to be a sanctuary use photos of tropical places, flowers, and other soothing images that reflect how you want to feel there. To “get in the mood” choose images that bring out the sensual side of you.
  5. Try to adjust the lighting. Different levels of light change the look of the colors in your room. Use candles, soft lighting or dimmer switches to let more light in or keep light out. Natural light nourishes your body and it is no different in your home.
  6. Choose a good quality bed and bedding. We’ve talked about the look of the bedroom but not the main item in the room. A bed with a comfortable, well made mattress is essential for adequate rest. A bed with a headboard and a footboard that’s sturdy can be expensive but it’s worth it in the long run. Don’t forget the sheets either. High thread count bedding is soft to the touch and welcoming after a long, hard day.

Small Bedroom Designs

Small Bedroom Designs

Having a small bedroom should not be a problem when you know how to design and decorate it. Through the right approach, you are going to easily forget that it is small and instead will let you feel not only like it is bigger but more comfortable and relaxing to stay at. It may seem impossible for you, but you can achieve this effect and stop getting guilty that you have it small.

You can get a huge information about small bedroom designs via online, much of search engine result pages are inform you step by step in building and arranging a small bedroom, firstly, start by de-cluttering it with mess, meaning you have to toss off things that are not of much use. Replace them with essentials only. Along with that, consider the following ideas to achieve that bigger look as well as comfortable and cozy feel:

1. Color

Apply the bedroom with brighter paint colors. It is a way to let natural light getting inside the small room reflected in these colors making your room appear bigger.

2. Mirrors

Putting mirrors in some key areas is a great way for adding dimension to the small bedroom. They enhance space of the room because of the doubled-look effect. Just make sure you don’t place a mirror that reflects the part where you don’t want it exposed.

3. Beds

Use slim-framed furniture and bed to avoid taking up much of the space. Fold-down beds are great for small bedrooms, as well as bedroom closets. The latter is a type that is provided with built-in shelves, typically just underneath it.

Platform beds are also great choice for small bed. These are basically the kind with the low height, usually with only a foot high above the floor level of the room. The effect is that it actually makes volume and the bedroom looks bigger.

If to use conventional beds, you can have the space underneath by placing storage boxes or shelves. At one side of the bed, you can place a table or chair where you can put your reading lamp. Make sure it matches your bed for more stylish effect.

4. Shelves

Floor-to-ceiling book shelves are also great to store your small items and mementos, and of course, your books. This kind of shelve will not necessitate any more kinds of furniture because you can put virtually all the things in there. The result is saved spaces.

5. Furniture

Small furniture will do in small bedrooms, but arranging all pieces is they key to achieving the space-saving intention while keeping them still fashionable. Place these pieces at angles to help distract visual lines off the walls.

6. Wall paper

This is one of the most important items that you can focus on to achieve the illusion of bigger space. Wallpapers with horizontal patterns create effects of horizontal expansions.

When chosen and applied well, these ideas should work well with your small bedroom to turn it into comfortable and relaxing place to stay at. Bedrooms are designed to be somewhere where one would be staying to rest at nights and one that would be his/her private sanctuary; therefore, small bedroom design should be something that meets personal requirement in the most comfortable atmosphere.

Modern Bedroom Designs

Modern Bedroom Designs
I love to design a bedroom, several good bedroom designs can make our body will more fresh when we woke up from our sleep. So, its important to designing your bedroom in good looking such as some modern bedroom designs. As we know that everyone wants a great up to date look in the bedroom and you might find yourself inspired by a modern bedroom decorating idea that you have seen on TV or in a decorator magazine. If you are planning on duplicating a room plan exactly, have an open mind as the probabilities of an exact replication will not be possible, but you can come close with some innovative ideas. But, if you observe the following basic elements of modern design, you can obtain a nicely designed bedroom.

Color

Unlike popular decorating schemes in the past, our modern era likes to concentrate on one or two colors for a smooth, sophisticated look. Browns and white are typical colors today. Black and white is a great choice for modern bedroom designs and it doesn’t have to be boring if you spice it up with a bright color like red or yellow. One color that is very popular is chocolate brown and this can be used in varying shades of darkness. I chose these colors for two reasons. First, they go well with most modern furniture pieces, and second, they give the room a nice warm tone.

Pattern

The rugs and fabrics used in modern bedroom decor don’t rely on the fancy patterns of the past. Solid colors can be made more interesting by combining them with different textures. Not all patterns can be used when going for a modern design; geometric patterns are your best choice.

Furniture

The Modern style calls for furniture with clean, simple lines. The darker shades of wood are preferred for this decor style. The overall look will be enhanced if you avoid rounded lines. No need to be fancy: stick to straight lines and simple details. Brushed metal is a great, simple hardware look.

Accessories

Less is more with modern design so keep accessories to a minimum. When looking for the perfect finishing touch, experiment with long-lined glass vases and single flowers. Sparingly place a few items around the room rather then filling it with clutter. Steer clear of anything ornate or frilly in your modern bedroom. Try adding a modern work of art to your new room–one that really enhances the colors around it.

With these tips, any modern bedroom decorating idea can come to life. Choose a style you love and recreate it in your own bedroom for a unique look that is all your own.
