Microsoft will integrate Kinect in TV


Microsoft will integrate Kinect in TVKinect that will soon become a universal device. They can be used with the Xbox 360 with Windows and also used with the next-generation TV. According to the rumor published by The Daily, Microsoft would be contact with some manufacturers (Vizio and Sony in particular) to integrate Kinect in TVs .

The company's goal would bring the Redmond Kinect in as many homes, even in those where there is the Xbox 360 . A TV like this could easily be connected to the local network and interfaced the PC that is running Windows 8 .

The main function would be obviously the TV control with gestures such as turning on and off, while the return channel could be used the voice recognition . The camera instead of depth would be used to automatically resume from the point where the program is stopped when the viewer gets up from the couch.

It seems the so-called interactive TV or Internet TV that has become the new battleground among Microsoft, Google, and Apple. Microsoft recently acquires VideoSurf , a startup company that will provide U.S. Israeli technology to integrate a video search engine within Xbox LIVE. It is allowing users to quickly find content on YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and other portals.
