Modern is characterized by clean lines or the concept of diminishing lines. Surfaces are smooth and uninterrupted with little or no details. In some cases the water flow mechanisms are hidden from view and are motion driven. What used to be considered stark or sterile is now considered uncluttered, clean and fresh.
