EVEN A DELAY. NETBOOK INTEL CEDAR TRAIL IN FEBRUARY

Intel Cedar Trail is the code name, now well known, with which the Santa Clara company indicates the next generation of Intel Atom processors , which should have come on the market already by the end of 2011 . As we know the performance in multimedia constitute an increasingly critical to the success of a platform, especially when addressed to those mobile devices that, in size, they can not rely on dedicated graphics cards.

Aware of these limitations, Intel has decided that the next generation of mainstream processors and high-end Atom Cedarview and Ivy Bridge, will be introduced much more IGP performance than ever before. Apparently, however, Santa Clara is having big problems with the GPU Atom future. As you will remember it is these systems will be built with 32 nm lithography technologies and provide support for Intel Wireless Music, Intel Wirless Display (Widi), Blu-Ray 2.0 and video connections type DisplayPort . In addition to this fact should also incorporate a new graphics subsystem, Intel GMA 3600 , can offer much better performance than those of current Atom.

However, in the course of development, the U.S. giant has already had to give up the 64-bit version of drivers and support for Microsoft DirectX 10.1 graphics libraries . The real reasons for these choices are not known, but colleagues from VR-Zone and Blogeee have speculated that Intel may have decided to shelve the development of support for DirectX 10 to devote more time to ' optimized to support the future operating system Microsoft Windows 8 , now imminent.

The date of availability of new processors, Atom N2600 1.6 GHz with 400 MHz and 3600 GMA Atom N2800 1.8 GHz with 640 MHz GPU, again slipped forward now producers will have to wait until the end of December and will not be able reaching the market with new netbooks from  mid-January and early February . Recall, however, that giving up to support non-Microsoft APIs inficierà in any way the ability of the new IGP hardware to decode the video stream Full HD 1080p, then it is still one of the most important, since a user could hardly think of able to play well to a video game title on a netbook.
